  • The Grantor is the seller, the Grantee is the buyer. Names in bold are Voshells. Names in italic are surnames that have a connection to the Voshell family usually by marriage. It may not be the actual person who married a Voshell. The italicized name could be a sibling or parent.

  • Acres is the size of the plot being transferred.

  • The Name/Location is a brief description of the plot of land that was being transferred. The deeds have much larger descriptions of adjacent landowners. The notations in ‘single quotes’ are a well known local name for the property

  • The witnesses and neighbors show up in numerous deeds and help to distinguish the different Voshells.

  • The Family Facts might help to clarify what else was happening to this Voshell family. It could be a family relationship or a major event in the direct descent of my lineage. The Lafayette info is to help in determining the "Three Brothers came with Lafayette" family lore.
