Mary's stone is unreadable at this time. She buried between her mother and grandmother. The family had to have planned this placement so she would be near her mom and grandmother when they passed on.

Mary's obituary from the Middletown Transcript speaks of a young girl of many virtues and beloved by all who knew her. She died of peritonitis caused by a bruise resulting from a fall on the ice during the winter. Her funeral took place in her home near Odessa. She was the eldest daughter of Franklin and Geneva.

She was 14 year old when she died. Carolyn Voshell has a picture of Mary in her collection of the Pennington photographs.

Tatnal Tombstone recording done in 1930 placed a May or Mary Pennington at Forest Cemetery 3/3/1881- 3/11/1895.
