Barbara was the oldest of John Daniel Stonesifer's five surviving daughters. Her husband's name is not known, but indications are that it may have been Henry Begtill (later Bechtel), and that he died young. Her name was listed first among the daughters when named in their father's will. Also, in and estate settlement of John Daniel's will in 1831 the executor, who was her brother in law Peter Bankert married to her sister Elizabeth, listed Barbara's name as first among the daughters in the estate distribution of money. She lived in the vicinity of Uniontown; and it seems, was a member of Emmauel Lutheran and Reformed Church at Tyrone, a few miles east of Uniontown. This church is more familiarly known as Baust's Church. Her death probably occurred around 1855 because about that time, the heirs of John Daniel Stonesifer began to contest the correctness of the estate settlement of their father, and Barbara's name is missing from the dispute. This dispute culminated in 1842 when these heirs instituted two law suits against Peter Bankert to correct what they considered the inequality in the settlement of their father's estate. (These two lawsuits were known as Cases in Equity numbered 59 and 61 and were not settled till July 12 1853 in Orphan's Court in Westminster, Carroll Co MD). In all likelihood, Barbara was buried in the old cemetery at Baust's Church. However, the tombstones in that section are so warn or missing that no actual means of identification seems possible today.
Barbara may have had several children, but the name of only one is known. This child's name was also Barbara and she was mentioned in John Daniel Stonesifer's will as his granddaughter married to Henry Routson.
