[5161] After attending public schools in Caroline County, he and his brothers Wesley and Perry began dairy and grain farming. He and his brother Wesley farmed the land their father Levi had purchased from their grandfather. He was extremely proud of the fact that the Voshell family had owned and tilled Hunting Creek farms, 'the most beautiful piece of property on earth' since 1892.
