I'm just so excited as I have much more information now. All the
information I have was gathered in the 1970s when I lived near a large
genealogical library in Oklahoma City. I live now in Southwest City MO
which has 650 people in the southwestern corner of Missouri.
My great-grandmother was Louisa (pronounced Lew Iza) Voshell. My father
always makes sure I pronounce it right. She lived at various times of the
year with all the families of her children so he knew her very well.
the information I have I gathered from talking to my father, and talking to
descendants of brothers and sisters of Louisa, and cemetery and census
records.
Garrett Voshell (19 Apr 1822 DE-18 Dec 1895 Bates Co MO) married Deborah
Ann
Melvin (18 Mar 1828 DE-6 Oct 1892 Bates Co MO. They left DE sometime
around
1869 and moved to Chariton County MO, and then by 1880 were living in Bates
Co MO. They are both buried in Oak Hill Cemetery at Butler MO.
Their children were:
Louisa Jane Voshell (15 Jan 1846 Kent Co DE-20 Jan 1939 Delaware Co OK)
married James dickenson Nuckolls (22 Oct 1824 Grayson Co VA-1900 Cayuga
I.T.
on 16 Jun 1870. Their children were: Lydia A. Nuckolls (born 1876); Ira
Vernon Nuckolls (23 May 1878 Bates Co MO-1966 Grove OK); Samuel Lee Nuckols
(my grandfather) (27 Sep 1881 MO-30 Aug 1932); George Nuckolls (May 1887
I.T.-1907 OK); and Fred Nuckolls (1890).
