1898/May 28 "John M Voshell a prominent Kent Countian is critically ill with paralysis at Smyrna." MT T
Probate for John M Voshell 1901-1906 mentions a wife Mary E and three children Martha Spruance, O.B. Voshell, and Sarah Kahn all from the Philadelphia area. There was a court battle with Mary E (second wife) the executor of the will by the children and the following Smiths: Wilmer, Mary, Beatrice, and Sidney. Probate also mentions money to the orphan's court. DE Archives has a death record that he died at age 84 11/26/1900 and his parents were Obediah Voshell and Rebecca (Millies). Turner notes that the second wife of John M--Mary E C Voshell gave him the notes on the children of John M. she did not know the marriage dates of the children and hoped that Solomon would record her death date by her beloved husband's.
Settlement of the dispute filed in Kent Co Orpan Court M2 353. He owned a large amount of land in the Smyrna area.
Turner's notes on this family are "tradition in this family is that 3 bros. Obediah, Daniel, and James came over with Lafayette form France and settled in Kent Co. That James deeded land to Kent Co Almshouse.
