Orphan court doc dated August 1807, Hannah Voshall is appointed guardian to William Voshall and Daniel Voshall, minor sons of James Voshall. They were over 14 but under 21. Birth year range 1786-1793. The rest of the children were under 14
DE Archives Probate for Daniel Voshell JR. dated April 26, 1827-1829. The accounting sheet listed his widow and wife Nancy, children Mary, William, David, Alexander Voshall. This information matches the accounting in the Hannah's (his grandmother) orphan court records and the official Orphan Court ledger document. Titus Irons and Emory Aidham appraisers.[JR could be in reference to the older Daniel his uncle still alive in the Family and not son of Daniel which was a common practice not a relationship indicator as in the 20th century.]
The JR probably refers to the Daniel his uncle as the older and therefore would be the SR. It seems as though this was the way to distinguish members of family with the same names not necessarily just father and sons. This probate also shows that Nancy Voshall, widow now wife of James Banks.
Daniels Probate 1827-1829 Nancy his widow signs Adm. right to Titus Irons [David goes to live with him in MD] Hannah's maiden name is Irons.
The probate lists two trust funds for David and Alexander who were probably the youngest.
A DE Archives orphan document show a Titus Irons as Adm. of Daniel Voshall and trustee to David Voshell. On the ledger account there is money paid to a James Banks [second husband of Nancy Voshall] for the clothing and schooling needs of David and Alexander Voshell.
1823, Dec 6 B 3 116 Nancy Voshell (Nancy Smith) to Martin Ford 1/2 of 1/3 track contains 91 acres which she inherited from her sister Sarah Smith. Alexander goes to live with a Moses K Ford.
1826, Jan 21 Z 2 142 Daniel Voshell (son of James) wife Nancy to Martin Ford, a track 91 a. Nancy inherited with her two sisters. Mary late wife of Draper and Sarah Smith from her father Nathaniel Smith. This seems to be the most conclusive proof this Daniel is placed correctly. This land was East side of main branch of the Choptank River, Holly Island.
